The Brooklyn 36 has a resolutely classic flair. We chose dauphine hands that are reminiscent of classic designs from the 1930s and 1940s, as well as the thin-polished, applied markers.

The dial is definitely one of the highlights of the Brooklyn 36. We spent lots of time finding the right balance between design and legibility to house the full triple calendar complication.

The dial is inspired by the 60’s Pie-Pan dials which have a recessed chapter ring giving the dial a lot of depth. The subdials are also lowered which results in a beautiful contrasting surface. To put more emphasis on these contrasts we have chosen to give the dial a sunburst finish combined with a sandblasted chapter ring and subdials.

The box domed sapphire crystal—a feat of engineering in and of itself—gives the watch another touch of vintage and warmth.

The Brooklyn 36 is equipped with a very useful triple calendar complication, also known as complete calendar or full calendar watches (“quantième complet” in French, a complication made popular by the Blancpain’s Villeret collection).

This type of watch displays the date, the day of the month, and the month of the year. It’s akin to having an analog smart watch on your wrist.

In complete/full/triple calendar watches, the date wheel complication reads all months as having 31 days, so on the 31st day at midnight, the date automatically changes to the first of the next month. Moreover, the little pusher at the 2 o’clock adjusts the month while the crown changes the date, day of the week, and time.
